About Door Sales
A long-form journal for people who have to live with the opening, not just photograph it.
Door Sales publishes independent Australian writing on doors. The name is plain on purpose. For years the phrase sat on a classifieds-style domain; the live web and the Wayback Machine no longer give us a usable record of that earlier shopfront, so we rebuilt the title as what the work actually is: a desk that treats a door as a piece of building fabric, not a product tile.
We write in Australian English for Australian houses. That means weatherboard frames that move, BAL ratings that are not optional, salt air that eats cheap zinc, and a National Construction Code that changed how thresholds and access are drawn. It also means Federation highlights, Queenslander lattice, and the particular humiliation of a 2040 millimetre leaf in a 2100 millimetre opening.
What we do not do
We do not sell doors, take showroom retainers, or pretend a sponsored paragraph is a review. When a guest essay or paid placement carries an outbound link, it is marked rel="sponsored". Corrections are published, not buried. The method is on our editorial standards page.
